The aim of the event is to enable a range of callers, musicians and dancers to meet Rodney Miller and David Surette from the USA. A number of bands, callers and organisers have been sowing the seeds of a new approach to contra in the UK. This event will enable us all to dance, to play, to talk and to have fun learning more about contra dancing, with two of New England’s finest musicians.

Halsway Manor represents the best of Old England: a beautiful house within which to relax and make friends. It also has lovely grounds that are fun for children to explore. There are many local tourist attractions and opportunities for walking and swimming. If you are a musician or caller this event offers a unique opportunity to work with Rodney and David in an informal setting. If you are a dancer, then you are in for a treat: great music and a range of the keenest contra callers from the UK. If you organise dance events and want a chance to build a network of contacts, or to share ideas, then the hothouse is what you need. If you have a young family and you would like a holiday including events for you and your children, then this would be an excellent time to try out Halsway Manor.
